  1. Hello Jane,
First of all thanks a lot for the uniquely interesting and useful tutorial that you put up on Youtube. I've never had a chance in my life to learn piano although I always loved it, but with the help of your videos I've been able to enjoy playing music (w/ my organ) and I love this experience :)
I just have a technical question, and sorry if it is obvious cuz I'm totally new to this. It's about the "sustain" character in some of your songs. I see that you are able to sustain the sound a little bit when you are playing large chords and you need to move your hands quickly (and cannot press and hold the keys to sustain). I know that there is a sustain pedal in pianos that will serve the same task without need to hold the keys but whenever I use it (and push the pedal continuously while I'm playing)the tomes blur and mix a lot and does not make a pure nice sound. I was thinking maybe you use a different technique for it. I really appreciate it if you give me a little advice here.
    Thanks a lot,
    Sara

  2. Obviously you have a good ear and do know when you are over-pedaling. Try to let go before that happens. There is a way of holding the pedal lightly so that it is easier to let up and quickly press down again. Sort of like a light tapping. Pianist teacher Josh Wright has a lesson on pedaling. Here's the link:
