My hubby Mike worked so hard! Amazing, he finished transferring each page of the Monkey See Monkey Do Site to my new Google Site. Just need a few touch ups, and have to make sure the links work. If you happen on any mistakes, please let us know. Thanks! :)

Piano and Math Tutorials Website
Hi Jane,
ReplyDeleteI like to share a story about my piano adventure. I'm playing the piano for five months now, and no, I could not read the scores. But, I could play: Prelude in C, Sound from a Secret Garden, Winter Sonata; Only You, etc. I love to play, but I knew that I had to learn to read the scores. So, three weeks ago I started my first pianolesson. My teacher asked me what she could do for me, so I explained her that I want to learn the scores, and I also told her that I could play some pieces. She asked me take place at her piano, and said: Well than, you said that you could play Prelude in C, let's hear it. I looked at her and she had a face like: Oh boy, here is another one who thinks she can play, Prelude in C, sure :-)
So I started to play, with all the feelings I had inside, and it sounded beautifull. When I finished it, she was very quiet, so I thought: Oh boy, was it that bad, so I played all my other pieces I've learned from your site Jane. It was so lovely to play, and when I finished everything, she still was very quiet. So I asked her, Please, tell me, was I that bad? She looked at me and said: I never saw and heard this before, you are playing with so much feeling, how did you do this, how can you remember all those pieces, and do you know that you are playing diffult pieces, well, to difficult for a beginner???? I explained to her that Im learning and playing by ear. She asked me if I had lessons before? The answer was no, I never had one lesson in my life. Now Im learning the scores, and Im playing very easy pieces, but....... I can read those scores and that is making my so proud. I'm so excited that I have my new piano adventure, and some day I will play beautifull pieces, and not by ear, but with the feeling I have inside and by reading the scores.
Music was my first love, and it will be my last!
Regards,
Sonja
You can read scores! Sonja, I'm so happy for you, and proud of you. Motivating to read music was one of the main reasons I started this project. Now music is yours to create and enjoy forever.
